Dog's Refuge Home Shenton Park
The Dogs' Refuge Home (W.A.) Inc., is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the rescue, care and re-homing of dogs. The Home was established in 1935 and is one of the oldest animal welfare agencies in Australia. Our activities are motivated by the fundamental understanding that dogs are entitled to the same love and respect that they unconditionally give to us.
Swan Animal Haven
The Swan Animal Haven rescues and cares for abandoned dogs until compassionate homes can be found. We advocate the sterilisation of ALL dogs and hope that one day we will not need to be here.
The Cat Haven
Is a Licenced Charity (number 17686) maintained by the Cat Welfare Society Inc, as a community service. Our ABN is 35 968 264 862. Cat Haven has grown from its humble beginning in 1961 to be the main cat welfare organisation in Western Australia today
K9 Dog Rescue Group
Our aim is to rehome abandoned, mistreated and unloved dogs while trying to advise the public on responsible pet ownership. K9 supplies veterinary care and find new homes for dogs and puppies due to be destroyed at the Pounds. We rear abandoned litters of pups, take in rescued dogs, and whenever possible rehome dogs that are caught up in a family crisis. We rehome well over 500 dogs per year. Some of our new owners come from as far afield as Shepparton, Victoria, Darwin, Alice Springs and one even in Norway (Europe!). All dogs taken into our care are vet-checked, vaccinated, wormed, sterilised and flea treated. It can take days, weeks and sometimes months to find suitable homes for our dogs. In this time K9 ensures the dogs receive the best possible care available.
Geraldton Dog Rescue
The Geraldton Dog Rescue program, run by volunteers and supported by the City Of Geraldton, is designed to rehome suitable dogs from the City Of Geraldton pound. If unclaimed after 72 pound-hours, dogs deemed suitable for rehoming are taken from the pound, vet checked, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and if necessary groomed and are then placed in a 'foster home' for up to one month whilst a permanent home is found for them via the program's advertising network.
Saving Animals From Euthanasia Inc.
SAFE Inc (Saving Animals From Euthanasia) is based in the Pilbara region of Western Australia and is dedicated to the rescue, care and rehoming of abandoned and unwanted pets that may otherwise face euthanasia. SAFE Inc is a not-for-profit Animal Welfare Organisation & is operated entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers who are committed to the welfare of animals.
Celebrity Pets
We operate a rescue service for Our four legged friends who have been unlucky enough to wind up in the Dog Pound!. Our dogs have been through the impoundment process and have gone unclaimed for a variety of reasons. We are able to spend time with these pooches and more often than not we find that these canines are delightful creatures who are certainly worthy of another chance at a happy home!
RSPCA WA
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is Western Australia’s leading animal welfare authority. The RSPCA is commissioned by the State Government to enforce the Animal Welfare Act in Western Australia, which is policed by uniformed Inspectors. As well as the Inspectorate, we also operate an Animal Shelter at our Malaga Headquarters, run education programs for schools and community groups and hold dog training classes throughout the metropolitan area.

And for those who really want to pamper their pooch in WA-- They have their own room's with a TV, a bed, sheets and pillows in Winter, doona's, blankets, and a coat if needed, all linen gets changed 2/3 times a week. There is also a separate day bed with bowls of biscuits and their own water. All meals are home cooked.....no tinned food unless stated.....they get beef, mutton, lamb with mixed vegies, pasta and rice. In the summer they have their wading pool. There is reticulation on the roof to cool the kennels down....
